SUMMARY:Firm to Firm Mentoring Programme 2025/26
DESCRIPTION:Connect with members by joining Progress Together’s Firm-to-Firm Mentoring Programme for 2025/26\,delivered by MCG Consulting.\n\n\nJoin Year Two of the Firm-to-Firm Mentoring Programme\, delivered by MCG Consulting for Progress Together. \nLast year’s 2024–25 cohort brought together 25 participating firms\, forming strong cross-sector partnerships that generated real\, measurable progress in socio-economic inclusion across financial services. According to the independent evaluation conducted at the end of the programme: \n\nAll participants reported increased confidence discussing socio-economic inclusion internally.\nMentees launched new initiatives\, including social mobility networks and improved data plans\, directly attributed to the mentoring.\nMentors and mentees said their objectives were “mostly to fully met\,” with expected continued impact into 2026.\nThe programme strengthened cross-firm solidarity\, helping participants see challenges as “not unique” and enabling more open problem-solving.\nMCG’s facilitation was praised for its practicality\, empathy-led approach\, and clarity.\n\nParticipants described the Programme as “positive\,” “useful”\, and “confidence-building\,” with several quotes capturing the programme’s value: \n“I feel better equipped to foster inclusionary practices in my workplace.” \n“My confidence in talking about the subject has increased.” \n“Understanding the challenges we are facing are not unique to us.” \n“It has been useful to meet others to understand their journey\, challenges and how my experience can help them achieve their goals.” \nThese findings clearly demonstrate that cross-firm mentoring offers both personal leadership growth and tangible organisational change. \nWhat’s new in Year Two? \nBuilding on last year’s strengths and evaluation\, Year 2 introduces Four Learning Forums\, replacing last year’s masterclasses. \nThese sessions will be: \n\nProblem- and solution-focused\nPeer-led and co-facilitated by MCG and member experts\nDesigned to help participants work through real challenges in real time\nA structured way to maintain momentum between mentoring sessions\n\n  \nHow the programme works (2025–26)? \n\nThree structured mentoring sessions (January–June 2026)\nTailored matching based on organisational goals and readiness\nSupported by guidance\, reflection prompts\, and structured conversation tools\n\nJust as last year\, sessions are designed to build trust\, translate insight into action\, and strengthen confidence \nFour Learning Forums (online\, action-learning) \nDates: \n3 February 2026 (09:00–10:00 or 10:00–11:00) \n14 April 2026 (13:00–14:00) \n16 June 2026 (09:00–10:00) \n30 September 2026 (13:00– 14:00) \n  \nThese respond directly to participants’ requests for: \n\nmore cross-firm sharing\nmore structured check-ins\ndeeper content and problem-solving spaces\nsustained peer accountability\n\n  \nCelebration and Learning Event: 22 October 2026\, 16:30–20:00 (in person). Hosted at a member firm. \nBenefits for your organisation \nFor mentee firms \n\nLearn from peers who have successfully tackled similar challenges\nAccess practical tools and examples (last year’s mentees implemented new networks and data plans\nBuild confidence and capability to lead inclusion agendas internally\n\nFor mentor firms \n\nDemonstrate sector leadership in socio-economic mobility\nShare knowledge that is proven to influence real organisational change\nGain fresh perspective and contribute to systemic change\n\nRegister your interest \nTo take part in Year 2\, please complete the short Expression of Interest Form by Wednesday 21 January 2026. \nPairings and schedules will be confirmed in January 2026. \nIf you would like to discuss the programme before registering\, please get in touch.

SUMMARY:Advocates in the Room: Unlocking the Power of Senior Sponsorship
DESCRIPTION:‘the person who advocates for you when you are not in the room’ \nFor many employees\, that advocate is the difference between being overlooked and being propelled into stretch roles\, high visibility projects\, and promotion pathways. In this workshop\, we dive into the power of senior sponsorship—and why it is one of the most effective\, yet least intentionally managed\, levers for socio economic inclusion. \nSenior leaders naturally gravitate toward sponsoring people who feel familiar: those with shared backgrounds\, interests\, or networks. While unintentional\, this dynamic reinforces long standing patterns—particularly the over representation of people from higher socio economic backgrounds in senior roles. For DEI managers\, the challenge is clear: how do we equip leaders to sponsor more inclusively\, and ensure high potential talent from all backgrounds is seen\, supported\, and championed? \nBuilding on the mentoring and coaching programmes already in place across Progress Together member firms\, this session explores how organisations can move from informal\, relationship based sponsorship to a more intentional\, equitable model. We will examine practical approaches to identifying talent\, matching sponsors\, and supporting leaders to advocate confidently and consistently for individuals whose experiences may differ from their own.

SUMMARY:Interactive Member Webinar - Making work allocation part of your diverse talent strategy
DESCRIPTION:Progress Together’s latest Data Report shows a socio-economic background progression gap among client-facing roles of 38 months. In other words\, employees from lower socio-economic backgrounds take 39% longer than their peers from higher socio-economic backgrounds to progress from middle to senior client-facing roles. \nBased on the Bridge Group’s research on effective best practice across multiple sectors\, the report recommends exploring how the allocation of work or project distribution affects progression by socio-economic background. Only 3% of the Member firms who participated in the research have implemented this for over six months. \nThis interactive webinar will explore how to implement approaches to work allocation to retain and progress diverse talent. \nParticipants will discuss how work allocation works with their talent strategy and identify actions they can take.
